It was ten years ago when I got my first Urinary Tract Infection. The pain was unbearable – as anyone who has had it will know. The GP put me on a 7 day Anti-biotic course. This did not clear up the infection, so I went on a 14 day course soon after.
Recently, I had been sensing the infection wanted to return, and was woken the other night to intense pain. Obviously, I wasn’t going on another course of ant-biotics. So, having run out of Cranberry juice concentrate, and as I don’t drink the Supermarket rubbish, an immediate remedy seemed unobtainable. I looked for an alternative cure and came across Vitamin C as a likely candidate, luckily there was a bag of pure ascorbic acid in the cupboard. I mixed up a heap teaspoon with some water, and added 3 drops of Grapefruit Seed Oil for good measure. Within an hour I was feeling much better.
I repeated this method three times in the day, and also drank a few cups of Pau d’Arco tea. By the next day, the infection was nowhere to be seen. On a side note, my mind seemed a lot clearer, and my energy levels had definitely been raised too. I know there is some controversy over Ascorbic acid, and it’s possible detrimental effect on your good bacteria, but all I can say is ‘it worked wonders for me‘.
